Resident GPS on iPod Touch and iPhone it is for when?
Eh yes, good question but do not wait for you to find answer in this ticket, but more a personal reflexion which signs my impatience (and your)!
With the exit of the iPhone 3G what was interesting this year at the level of the app blind was mobile applications to use the iPhone in displacement.
I do not know what will be the future of the iPod Touch, but if a resident application is developed, I would not be surprised that GPS is adaptable on the iPod Touch. Indeed, in the absence of permanent Internet connection it is impossible (at the moment) in the iPod to update permanently its cards.
The big problem of GPS would be, not only its big consumption in energy, but also its place in memory (about 1GO). Of more the partnership Apple enters google for development of google map for iPhone and would fall to the water.
After the buzz accomplished this summer by this announcement: Tomtom is ready! what will be you there he from G-Map USA who was thrown last month?

and good!! instructive all this..
without integrated receiver GPS nor from BlueTooth, I see not how iTouch could benefit from an app GPS?
